Mercedes Benz India has today launched the 2021 GLC in the country. It is available in two variants namely 200 and 220d. Pricewise, Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 is offered at Rs 57.40 lakhs (ex-showroom) and GLC 220d 4M retails at Rs 63.15 lakhs (ex-showroom). Talking about the GLC, it has been the highest-selling SUV in Mercedes Benz India's product portfolio for the year 2020. The company managed to sell more than 8400 units since its launch in the country. Now the fully loaded 2021 GLC offers more comfort and driving assistance to the customers than ever before.
“The GLC has remained a key pillar of our SUV offense and has been the single highest-selling SUV in our portfolio last year. With the 2021 GLC, we now offer a technology superior, feature enriched fully loaded mid-size SUV, which has raised the benchmark for tech, comfort, and convenience in the segment significantly. The new intuitive Mmc technology, MBUX Telematics with Hey Mercedes, and new features create a comfortable and best-in car experience. As a customer-centric brand, it remains our endeavor to constantly offer new products and technology that benefit the customers and create a delightful ownership experience. We are confident, with the technology and feature enrichment, the GLC will continue its customer preference and extend its lead in the premium mid-size SUV segment,” commented Martin Schwenk, Managing Director, and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India on the eve of the introduction.
In terms of features, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC now comes equipped with the latest car connected technology. The mid-size luxury SUV provides ‘Mercedes Me Connect’ technology with Alexa, Google Home integration, and Parking location on its Navigation system. It further gets front seats with a massage function. This feature has been introduced for the first time in Mercedes-Benz India product line-up with the GLC. The mid-size SUV comes equipped with features like a new fully digital instrument cluster with MBUX, remote engine start, parking assist with a 360-degree camera, among many others. The 2021 GLC is being offered in two new colour shades - Brilliant Blue and High-Tech Silver.
Besides these updates, mechanically the SUV remains the same as before. The GLC 200 offers a 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit that churns out 192 bhp power and 320 Nm peak torque. While the GLC 220d is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel motor that generates 192 bhp and 400 Nm torque. Both the engines are paired to a 9G Tronic automatic Transmission.
