2021 Audi A3 Sedan Revealed

Audi sprang a surprise by revealing 2021 Audi A3 Sedan just weeks after the all-new Audi A3 Sportback debut. Unlike Audi A3 Sportback, Audi A3 sedan will be arriving in the Indian market. Currently, Audi offers just 3 models to the Indian consumers -  A8L, A6 and  Q8. 2021 Audi A3 Sedan is based on the MQB Evo platform and is expected to reach the European market by June or July 2020. Audi A3 Sedan 2021 launch in the Indian market highly depends on how the Coronavirus situation normalizes in the coming days. If we take a guess, the New Audi A3 sedan release date in India could be around last quarter of 2020 or early 2021. When it makes an appearance in the country, this particular sedan will compete against Mercedes A-Class Sedan in its segment.   

Dimension wise, Audi A3 sedan is 40 mm longer, 10 mm wider and 10 mm taller than its predecessor. Wheelbase remains the same as the outgoing model. From a design perspective, Audi A3 Sedan is markedly different from the older model and looks more aggressive than ever. Why I say aggressive? Well, the single-frame grille is bigger with LED headlamps are sharper and edgier. Its top-end variant comes with Matrix LED headlamps. 

Audi A3 sedan 2021 interior comes packed with a host of new features like a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, 10.1-inch MMI touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch ‘Virtual Cockpit’ just behind the steering wheel. Virtual Cockpit will be optional though the digital instrument cluster will be coming as a standard fitment.

If we talk about the performance, Audi A3 Sedan will be coming with 3 engine options in the European market. Two petrol and one diesel engine will be offered to European consumers. The petrol engines will be a common 35 TFSI variant, featuring a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit churning out 148bhp of maximum power. In terms of transmission, this one will come with a  six-speed manual gearbox and another with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic version. The seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will come with a 48V mild-hybrid system that’ll add 50Nm of electrical boost during acceleration. The expectation of a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo engine to Audi’s petrol engine options is huge and Audi might add in the coming days.

Audi A3 Sedan diesel variant will have a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit, generating 148bhp of maximum power with only a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. 2021 Audi A3 sedan will be front-wheel drive. 

Audi A3 sedan 2021 price in Germany is around EUR 29,900 (Rs 25 Lakh). In India, the price is expected begin from around Rs 35 Lakhs (ex-showroom)
