Triumph Street Triple RS

Triumph Motorcycle India has announced the launch of 2020 Street Triple RS on April 22 in the country. Earlier, it was scheduled to launch on March 25 but it was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The new motorcycle will be launched digitally while the rides will take place once the lockdown period is over on May 3. The present model of Triumph Street Triple RS is priced at Rs 11.13 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) and the updated model is expected to get a premium of at least Rs 40,000-50,000 over the current model.

The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS will carry a lot of cosmetic changes barring the dimensions, silhouette and chassis as they will be carried over from the ongoing model. The motorcycle flaunts new LED headlamp with DRLs while the TFT instrument cluster has been retained albeit with new graphics. In addition, a few exterior elements like the body panels, flyscreen, side panels, seat cowl and belly pan have been redesigned. The new bike will be available in a couple of paint options like matte jet black with aluminium silver and yellow decals, and silver ice with diablo red and aluminium silver decals. The bi-directional quick shifter will be offered as standard while the ride modes will be retuned for improved performance.

2020 Triumph Street Triple RS will be powered by a 765cc three-cylinder in-line petrol engine which has been updated to meet the BS6 emission norms while it already meets the Euro V regulations. The engine will develop maximum power output of 121bhp at 11,750rpm and peak torque performance of 79Nm at 9350rpm. It is going to be the first BS6 compliant from the British brand in the Indian market. Triumph Street Triple RS locks horns with the likes of Yamaha MT-09, KTM 790 Duke and the Ducati Monster 821 in the country. The new bike will ride on the latest Supercorsa SP V3 Pirelli tyres with ride modes and traction control as standard. However, it is still bereft of IMU-assisted electronics.
