The 2020 Nissan Kicks facelift has been spotted in flesh ahead of its world premiere in Thailand. The SUV was spied without any camouflage on a flatbed while it was being dispatched to the dealerships in Thailand. However, just so you know, it was the global model based on the V architecture not the India-spec model which is underpinned by the B0 platform. But it is being believed that the India-spec Nissan Kicks facelift, when it comes, would get similar cosmetic updates.
Going by the spy-shots, 2020 Nissan Kicks facelift comes with a more evolved front fascia which comprises of a bigger radiator grille, restyled headlamps, vertically positioned foglamps and a tweaked bumper. The side and rear profile is largely retained from the present model except for the inclusion of a new body colored bumper. The cabin details are not available at the moment but it is expected to come with a plethora of latest features. Nissan is planning to enter a couple of new markets with the Kicks facelift in the form of Thailand and Japan. Recently, the BS6 compliant Nissan Kicks was spotted testing but it has not been launched yet in India. Also, Nissan has not updated any of its vehicles to BS6 emission norms till now and hence, no Nissan car is on sale in the Indian market from April 1, 2020.
Various reports have confirmed that 2020 Nissan Kicks facelift would get an e-Power series-hybrid powertrain. Having a setup of combustion engine and an electric motor, the e-Power powertrain will be borrowed from the new Note. It will have a 1.2L HR12DE petrol engine which develops top power of 78bhp and peak torque of 103Nm alongside the EM57 electric motor which will have maximum power output of 107bhp and peak torque performance of 254Nm. The electric motor will draw power from a 1.5 kWh battery pack. Though, as the Nissan Note comes with an all-wheel-drive system, it features an additional motor at the rear wheels which churns out 4.7bhp and 15Nm. It is not yet confirmed whether the India-spec Nissan Kicks facelift will come with the e-Power series-hybrid powertrain whenever it launches in near future.
