Hyundai had released the first official sketches of the next-gen i20 a few weeks back and now the images of the hatch have been leaked ahead of its world premiere at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. The next-gen Hyundai i20 comes with fresh styling and new features while it will be available in several powertrain-transmission combinations internationally. It is expected to launch in the Indian market by June 2020 in a price range of Rs 6-10 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).

Going by the leaked images, 2020 next-gen Hyundai i20 takes a radical departure in terms of styling as compared to the current-gen model. It is sportier than before which is inline with the company's 'Sensuous Sportiness' ethos. The front fascia is aggressive with LED DRL equipped headlamps and a huge blackened out 'cascading' front grille in a diamond layout with mesh finish. The fog lamp units are in a triangular shape as well. The side profile including the silhouette vastly remains the same, save for the dual-tone alloy wheels and chrome lining at the windowline. The rear end boasts of Z-shaped LED tail-lamp cluster with faux diffuser.

For those asking, the India-spec 2020 Hyundai i20 will be identical to the global model, unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show. Inside the cabin, the hatch will feature a totally redesigned dashboard with several premium features such as an all-digital instrument console, wireless charging, automatic climate control with rear vents, push button start/stop and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with BlueLink connected car technology. Mechanically, it will be available with a total of three engines: naturally-aspirated 1.2L petrol, 1.5L diesel and the 1.0L turbocharged petrol. The DCT auto gearbox will be exclusive to the 1.0L engine while other motors will get manual transmission.
