Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has officially launched the NX500 Adventure Tourer in the Indian market. The motorcycle is set to replace the CB500X in Honda’s lineup. The CB500X was priced at INR 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The NX500 Adventure Tourer is available at an introductory price of INR 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices are a bit higher because it will reach India via the CBU (completely built up) route. The deliveries for the motorcycle will commence from next month onward.

Honda said that the NX500 motorcycle can be bought via its BigWing dealerships. The adventure tourer is available in three color schemes: Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, Pearl Horizon White, and Grand Prix Red. This motorcycle is going to rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure, and Kawasaki Versys 650 in the Indian market.

Honda NX500 Specifications

The NX500 gets a 5-inch customizable full-color TFT screen that includes facilitating music and voice control, Honda RoadSync, turn-by-turn navigation, and is compatible with both iOS and Android. The new bike comes equipped with the brand’s traction control system, also called Honda Selectable Torque Control. Additionally, it packs all-LED lighting and an emergency stop signal feature.

The new motorcycle is powered by a 471cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke DOHC engine with a parallel dual-cylinder layout. This motor churns out a maximum power of 46.5 bhp and 43 Nm of peak torque. The unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Honda NX500 uses a steel diamond-tube mainframe, supported by Showa 41mm SFF-BP upside-down forks up front and a pro-link monoshock in the back, along with a 5-stage preload adjuster. In the motorcycle, the braking system incorporates dual 296 mm discs at the front along with 2-piston calipers up front and a 240 mm disc with a one-piston caliper at the rear. Standard functions incorporate twin-channel ABS. The motorcycle has a 19-inch wheel at the front, whereas the 17-inch wheel is at the back. The alloy wheels are covered with a 110/80 section tyre in the front and a 160/60 section tyre in the back.
