Volkswagen Taigun has received more than 18,000 bookings since its launch in the Indian market

Volkswagen Taigun has received more than 18,000 bookings since its launch in the Indian market, confirmed Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen India. This further indicates that the SUV is sold out for 2021 and orders placed from now on will be delivered in 2022 only. The German brand stated that the dealerships have been getting nearly 250 bookings for the Taigun on a daily basis and if this strong demand for the product continues then it might have to temporarily stall the bookings in order to ensure timely delivery.

Volkswagen Taigun was launched on September 23, 2021 in India in a price range of Rs 10.49-17.49 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India). The SUV is offered in two trims namely Dynamic Line and Performance Line. The former is available in three variants - Comfortline, Highline and Topline while the latter comes in two grades: GT and GT Plus. The SUV is based on the globally acclaimed MQB A0 IN architecture with a localization level of up to 95 percent. Some of the notable features in the Taigun include 17-inch Manila alloy wheels, C-shaped Infinity LED tail lamp cluster, ambient lighting, ventilated leather front seats, electric sunroof, wireless charging, 20.32cm digital cockpit, Climatronic auto AC with pollen control and 25.65 cm VW Play touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay, Android Auto & MyVolkswagen Connect.

Volkswagen Taigun has been equipped with 40+ safety features in the form of Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), 6 airbags, multi-collision brakes, reverse parking camera, 3-point seat belts, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and tyre pressure deflation warning system. It can be availed with a choice of two petrol engines namely 1.0L 3-cylinder TSI and 1.5L 4-cylinder TSI EVO. The former develops top power of 113 bhp and peak torque of 178 Nm while the latter generates power output of 148 bhp and torque performance of 250 Nm. Both the engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The 1.0L petrol motor is also offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission as an option. On the other hand, the 1.5L petrol mill gets the 7-speed DSG unit as optional.
