Being based on Maruti Vitara Brezza, it will come with a handful of cosmetic tweaks at the outside

We told you yesterday that Toyota India will start the pre-bookings for the Urban Cruiser from August 22, 2020 in the country. Now, ahead of the official launch of the subcompact SUV, a brochure-like document has leaked online which provides info regarding the color options and features. Toyota Urban Cruiser will go on sale during the festive season in the next month, i.e. September 2020, in the Indian market. Being based on Maruti Vitara Brezza, it will come with a handful of cosmetic tweaks at the outside while carrying the same petrol engine.

The leaked document reveals that the SUV will boast of twin-pod LED projector headlamps with dual function LED DRLs and dual-slat wedge cut chrome front grille. It rides on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels while flaunting a split LED tail-lamp cluster and a LED high mounted stop lamp. The cabin gets a dual-tone dark brown upholstery while the features will include Smart entry with push start and stop button, Automatic climate control (standard across all variants), Rain sensing wipers, Cruise control, Electrochromic rear view mirror and a Smart PlayCast touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Navigation compatibility. Though, there is no word yet on the safety features that the SUV will carry.

Speaking of the color options, Toyota Urban Cruiser will be introduced in a total of 9 schemes which will include 6 single tone and 3 dual tone options. The single tone exterior colors will be White, Brown, Grey, Silver, Orange and Blue while the dual-tone paint options will be Blue & Black, Brown & Black and Orange & White. Under the bonnet, it will have the BS6 compliant 1.5L 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. This is the same engine that does duties to the Vitara Brezza. This engine develops a top power of 104bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 138Nm at 4400rpm. The engine will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The auto variants will be equipped with a lithium-ion battery with an integrated starter generator (ISG).
