Skoda Kushaq will be launched in June 2021 with deliveries commencing in July

Skoda India is all set to launch the Kushaq mid-sized SUV in the country. It was unveiled in March 2021 and was expected to go on sale last month in the Indian market but the company delayed it due to the lockdown in various states and cities. Now, it has been learnt that Skoda Kushaq will be launched in June 2021 while the customer deliveries will commence in July across the nation. Recently, a production-ready mule of the SUV in White paint scheme was spotted by our friends at Carwale. It is the first product under VW Group's India 2.0 Project.

Skoda Kushaq will be available in three trim levels namely Active, Ambition, and Style. Underpinning the MQB-A0 IN architecture, it has a boot capacity of 385 litres. The cabin is blessed with a lot of premium features in the form of 10-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, six speakers and a 50w subwoofer, Type-C USB ports, cooled glovebox, internal memory storage, wireless SmartLink, Climatronic automatic AC, twin cup holders, centre armrest and a free standing 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & My Skoda Connect. Skoda Kushaq will be available in five exterior colors namely Candy White, Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel, Honey Orange and Tornedo Red.

Mechanically, Skoda Kushaq will be offered with petrol engines while there will be no diesel on offer, at least initially. There will be a 1.0L 3-cylinder TSI petrol motor which will develop 110bhp of top power while mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Also, there will be a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine for the range-topping variants which generate maximum power output of 148bhp. This engine is equipped with Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) which automatically turns off two cylinders out of the four when less power is required. However, it turns on the deactivated two cylinders automatically when more power is required. It will only be linked to a 7-speed DCT automatic unit as standard.
