Hero XTEC moniker trademarked by Hero MotoCorp; plans to launch another ADV in the market

Hero MotoCorp has recently filed a trademark application for the moniker “XTEC”. This shows that the company might be planning to introduce an adventure motorcycle in the Indian market anytime soon. Furthermore, it has also been speculated that this new motorcycle might be the younger cousin of Hero Xpulse 200 and the successor of Hero impulse.

Talking about the Hero Xpulse 200, the dual-sport motorcycle has become a go-to-machine for several bike enthusiasts since its launch. It is priced at Rs 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom). According to a couple of media reports, Hero is planning to launch a new ADV that is even more affordable than the Xpulse 200. Suspension duties in Xpulse 200 are handled by 37mm telescopic forks upfront and an adjustable mono-shock towards the rear. In terms of brakes, the bike gets discs at the front and the rear paired with single-channel ABS. Feature highlights include a Bluetooth-enabled full-digital instrument cluster and a USB charging port. The bike is currently available in five colour options namely White, Panther Black, Sports Red, Matte Green, and Matte Grey.

According to reports, it is believed that new “Hero XTEC” could use a 163cc single-cylinder engine. This motor also powers the Hero Xtreme 160R but in a different state of tune. This 163cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine has 2 valves and a SOHC setup.  It pumps out 15 bhp power @8500 rpm and 14 Nm torque @6500 rpm in Xtreme 160R.  While these are just speculations, we can expect to get the details about the new product anytime soon.
