BS6 TVS Apache RTR 180 is nearly Rs 6,704 more expensive than the BS4 model.

TVS Motor Company has silently launched the BS6 compliant Apache RTR 180 at a sticker price of Rs 1.01 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market. It is nearly Rs 6,704 more expensive than the BS4 Bike model. Recently, the company launched BS6 version of the Apache RTR 160 which was around Rs 4500 more costlier than the existing BS4 model. It was introduced in two variants: Drum (Rs 93,500) and Disc (Rs 96,500).

As far as styling goes, The BS6 TVS Apache RTR 180 is identical to its BS4 counterpart. It retains the racing graphics while the 3D TVS logo is still on the fuel tank. The huge tank scoops been carried over too alongside a few features such as semi-digital instrument cluster, clip-on handlebars and single-piece seat. It flaunts a LED headlamps with DRLs while the tail-lamp cluster has also been equipped with LEDs. The bike has telescopic forks as front suspension and a monoshock as rear suspension. The braking duties are helmed by a 270mm petal disc at the front and a 200mm petal disc at the rear. In addition, the BS6 Apache RTR also gets a single-channel Super-Moto Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) as standard.

The BS6 bike will come with a special feature of Glide Through Traffic (GTT) to facilitate a constant ride in bumper to bumper traffic using the clutch and accelerator. It will be powered by a 177.4 cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 2-valve petrol engine, albeit with the addition of an oil-cooler and a fuel-injection system. Though, TVS refers the fuel injection as Race Tuned Fuel Injection (RT-Fi). The engine develops top power of 16.62bhp which is an increase of nearly 0.17bhp over the BS4 model. The torque performance though remains the same 15.5Nm. The dealerships have already started taking orders for the BS6 TVS Apache RTR 180 and the deliveries might start from the first week of April.
