Tata Motors has rolled out the 10,000th unit of the Safari 7-seater SUV from the assembly line in Pune, Maharashtra. The company has wheeled out the 10,000th unit of the SUV in less than five months despite the restrictions in manufacturing caused due to the second wave of COVID-19 in India. Tata Safari was launched on February 22, 2021 in the Indian market in a price range of Rs 14.69-21.45 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) while it takes on the likes of Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar in the 7-seater SUV segment.

Tata Safari is available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations while it is presented in seven trims namely XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, XZ+ and XZ+ Adventure Persona. Underpinning the OMEGARC platform, it is offered with both manual and automatic gearbox choices. Speaking on this milestone, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President – Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “We are thrilled to have reached this significant milestone for the new Safari in a span of four months.  Not to mention, we have achieved this landmark during one of the toughest periods our country has endured in its long history. The 10000th feat validates the collective hard work put in by various teams responsible for the rebirth of this illustrious model."

Tata Safari commands a market share of 25.2 percent in its segment and when combined with its 5-seater sibling, the Harrier, the market share goes as high as 41.2 percent in the high-end SUV segment. "The Safari in its new avatar takes forward the brand’s rich legacy by combining Tata Motors’ Impact 2.0 design language with the proven capability of OMEGARC, the architecture derived from Land Rover’s renowned D8 platform – the gold standard among SUVs worldwide. This iconic brand is already leading the segment and we are delighted with our customers’ response. We thank our customers for their continued trust in the brand. We will continue to keep our New Forever range refreshed catering to the ever-evolving needs of our customers,” added Chandra.
