Tata Motors announces a new subscription scheme for Tata Nexon EV for a limited period

In August, Tata Motors announced a subscription scheme for the Nexon EV for the Indian market. It could be subscribed for a duration ranging from a minimum 18 months to maximum 36 months. Earlier, the subscription plan amount was in the range between Rs 41,900 and Rs 47,900. Now, Tata Motors have drastically reduced the subscription charges for the Nexon EV for a limited period of time. Now, the Indian consumers can avail Tata Nexon EV at Rs 34,900 per month but with a catch. Only the first 100 subscribers until November 30, 2020, can avail this offer. 

The subscription plan is for a time period of 12, 24 and 36 months. The amount of Rs 34,900 for the monthly subscription covers insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance, free of cost maintenance with regular servicing and doorstep delivery. Tata Motors has partnered with Orix Auto Infrastructure Services Limited for the subscription scheme. They take care of any expenses arising out of ownership like road tax, registration, insurance renewals, timely servicing as well as maintenance. 


The subscription plan offers a personal EV charger along with the sub-compact SUV. The charger can be installed at the consumer’s office or the residence. Currently, the Tata Nexon EV subscription is available in 5 Indian cities: Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Delhi NCR. As per the manufacturer, the scheme would appeal to the corporate employees, individuals with frequent inter-city job transfers, and expatriates who stay for a fixed tenure.


India’s first electric sub-compact SUV is powered by a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The manufacturer claims a range of 312 km on a single full charge. Talking about the performance, Tata Nexon EV delivers 129 bhp of power output and 245 Nm of peak torque. Using a regular 15A socket, the EV can be charged from 10 per cent to 90 per cent in 8.5 hours. If using a fast-charging outlet, it takes just 60 minutes to get the charging from 0 per cent to 80 per cent. The Tata Nexon EV comes with safety features like dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic brakeforce distribution) and ISOFIX anchorage points for the child seat. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 9.9 seconds.
