Rs 26,000 hike on Nexon EV XZ+ and the XZ+ LUX variants with base XM trim price remaining unchanged

In a fresh development, Tata Motors has hiked Nexon EV prices in the domestic market. The homegrown automaker has increased prices of Tata Nexon EV XZ+ and the XZ+ LUX variants by Rs 26,000 while the base XM trim costs the same as before. Apart from Nexon EV, Tata Tigor EV is retailed exclusively for fleet and cab-hailing service providers in selected Indian cities. Despite the new hike, Tata Nexon EV is the most affordable EV in the passenger car space in the country. 



Tata Nexon EV is sold in 3 variants namely XM, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX in the domestic market. After the recent hikes, the new prices of Nexon EV start from Rs 13.99 lakhs to Rs 16.25 lakhs (ex-showroom). Below are the variant wise prices for electric SUV:

Talking about key design highlights in the Nexon EV, one can spot projector headlamps with LED DRL, new front grille, a revamped front bumper with blue inserts. The electric sub-compact SUV rides on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. While its rear remains more or less the same as the standard Nexon. Moving on to the interiors, the cabin boasts of fully automatic climate control, leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering, rear AC vent, a 7-inch HarmanTM Infotainment system offering  a touchscreen with functions like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. 



Talking about the performance, Tata Nexon EV is powered by a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The EV delivers 129 bhp of maximum power output and 245 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is taken care by an automatic gearbox. The manufacturer is currently offering an 8-Year Warranty with the battery plus two driving modes: Drive and Sport are offered with EV. The company claims that the Nexon EV has a range of 312 kms on a single full charge. Speaking about its charging capability, the battery takes around 8.5 hours to recharge from 10 percent to 90 percent if one uses the regular 15A socket. In case one uses a fast-charger then the battery takes just 1 hour to recharge from 0 percent to 80 percent. 




The Tata Nexon EV comes equipped with safety features like dual airbags, reverse park assist camera, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and ISOFIX anchorage points for the child seat. As for power delivery, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 9.9 seconds.
