Skoda Slavia will have its world premiere on November 18, 2021 in India

Skoda India has released the official exterior sketches of the all-new Slavia sedan ahead of its launch in the country. Skoda Slavia will have its world premiere on November 18, 2021 in India. Underpinning the MQB-A0-IN version of the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Transverse Toolkit which has been specifically adapted by the European brand for the Indian market, it will be locally developed at Pune production facility while being the second new model under the INDIA 2.0 project following the Skoda Kushaq SUV.

Speaking of the sketches, they showcase the front fascia and rear profile of the Slavia sedan. The front end will feature a wide hexagonal Skoda grille which extends all the way to slender. It will flaunt sharply defined headlights with an L-shaped daytime running light strip. Some other styling elements include coupé-like silhouette, Skoda badging on front wings and low slung front section. The rear profile features a sloping roofline which smoothly integrates into the boot lid. There is Skoda lettering in block letters and a rear apron with a chrome strip. Also, reflectors are offered on either side with signature C-shaped Skoda taillights that are divided in two parts and extend till the boot lid.

Mechanically, Skoda Slavia will come loaded with a couple of gasoline motors. The entry-level variants will use a 1.0L 3-cylinder TSI mill with power output of 113 bhp and torque performance of 175 Nm. It will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission as option. The higher variants will be powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder TSI EVO petrol engine which will belt out top power of 148 bhp and peak torque of 250 Nm. The engine will be linked to a 6-speed manual unit as standard while a 7-speed DSG automatic will also be on offer as option. The 1.5L petrol engine will feature active cylinder technology (ACT) which automatically shuts down two cylinders when the engine load is low.
