There are rumors that Maruti Suzuki is planning to submit the Fronx SUV for safety testing under the Bharat NCAP safety rating program.

Maruti Suzuki recently shared a video on its social media site announcing that a crash test is being conducted on the Fronx SUV. The SUV was first revealed at the 2023 Auto Expo, and it was officially launched last year. There are rumors that Maruti Suzuki is planning to submit the Fronx SUV for safety testing as part of the Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) safety rating program. The manufacturer has not made any official statement regarding it.

Although the company has revealed the video of the test, it has not shared any results or ratings. The recent crash tests performed by the carmaker were internal and not officially done by Bharat NCAP because there were no logos of BNCAP on the test car. The teaser also shows that the test car had two different pairs of wheels.

Earlier this month, Bharat NCAP released its first set of test results done on Tata Safari and Tata Harrier SUVs; both cars bagged 5-star ratings in the crash test. Interestingly, the manufacturer released the video right after Bharat NCAP announced the first set of crash test results. The company’s new crash test video is fueling speculation that Bharat NCAP and Maruti Suzuki may soon publish the ratings of the SUV in the upcoming weeks.
