BMW Motorrad India has recently revealed a teaser for the 2024 BMW R 1300 GS adventure bike ahead of its official launch in the Indian market. The two-wheeler giant unveiled the R 1300 GS in global markets last year. The new motorcycle is the company’s flagship ADV, which replaced the R 1250 GS in the brand’s portfolio. The company is all set to launch this new adventure model in the Indian market in June 2024. The R 1300 GS is likely to arrive on Indian shores as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).

The 2024 BMW R 1300 GS now features a new design language, a bigger engine, and more advanced features. The motorcycle receives a completely new look, and it now comes equipped with an LED projector lens headlamp and new X-motif LED DRLs. The BMW R 1300 GS looks leaner and features a flatter fuel tank. It houses a new sheet metal shell main frame that has been improved for better space and stiffness. The new frame is made from die-cast aluminum, which provides better control, especially on off-road patches. The adventure tourer is 12 kg lighter than the R 1250 GS motorcycle.

In addition, BMW offers the optional Pro Package, which brings three additional riding modes: Dynamic Pro, Dynamic, and Enduro Pro. As part of the riding assistant package, the R 1300 GS gets features like front collision warning, lane change warning, radar-based adaptive cruise control, and active cruise control.

Powering the BMW R 1300 GS is the new 1,300-cc boxer twin-cylinder engine that generates power of 145 bhp at 7,750 rpm and peak torque of 149 Nm at 149 Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The automaker has increased the power figures by 9 bhp and 6 Nm. The upcoming bike will feature an updated suspension setup, including a new EVO paralever unit at the back and an EVO telelever unit at the front. The two-wheeler giant will also provide optional dynamic suspension, which enables spring preload and damping management on the fly.

The BMW R 1250 GS has been a popular adventure motorcycle in global markets. It is known for its robust engine and advanced features. The upcoming R 1300 GS is expected to carry forward the legacy of the 1250 model. The motorcycle is expected to be priced around INR 22 to 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
