Kia Motors become the first OEM in the country to sell 1 lakh units of connected cars

Kia Motors India has achieved a milestone of selling 1,00,000 units of connected cars. Kia currently retails three products in the Indian market namely Seltos, Sonet, and Carnival. All three of them come equipped with the UVO Connect platform. Talking about the UVO Connect in-car platform in Kia vehicles, it connects smartphones, smartwatches, the car, and its infotainment system into a single unit for a seamless driving experience. It is basically a suite of 57 smart features. These features include voice commands for phone calls, weather, date and time, media control, navigation, cricket score, climate control, and holiday information. In addition, the UVO - Voice Assist wake up Command activates the UVO by simply saying “Hello Kia”, making it a natural extension during the drive. The connected car service comes with a 3-year free subscription.

“For today’s internet-savvy generation, a car should be their extension in every aspect including connectivity which can ease mobility. Our advanced UVO connect technology is a breakthrough effort in this direction which integrates smart devices with our cars for enabling a seamless, safer, and memorable drive experience. Technology has always been at the focal point since our maiden launch in the country and we are elated to achieve one more milestone in-car connectivity,” commented Kookhyun Shim, Managing Director, and Chief Executive Officer, Kia Motors India on achieving the milestone.
