2021 Skoda Kodiaq comes with a redesigned exterior and an improved performance

The 2021 Skoda Kodiaq has finally made its global debut today. The seven-seater SUV will go on sale in the European market in July. It will be launched in India by the end of 2021. Furthermore, the 2021 Skoda Kodiaq comes with several visual and technological upgrades. The SUV is offered in four variants - Athletic, Sportline, L&K, and RS.

Design-wise, the front fascia of the SUV has been redesigned thus giving it a bold look. It features a hexagonal grille with full-LED Matrix headlamps. On the sides, the SUV gets a new set of 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear end boasts of C-shaped LED tail lamps with a crystalline structure, a new gloss black spoiler, and finlets on the sides of the rear windows. The Active, Ambition, and Style trims, which are already on sale, get aluminum-effect detail on the front and rear apron.

Moving inside the cabin of the seven-seater SUV, it comes equipped with an array of features. The dashboard and door panels get additional contrast stitching. Besides this, it comes with ventilated ergonomic seats that come with a massage function and LED ambient lighting. The virtual cockpit with a 10.25-inch display and four different layouts comes as standard with Kodiaq RS. The L&K variant is offered with perforated leather front seats with adjustable ventilation. The two-spoke steering wheel is offered as standard. However, the Sportline and RS variants get a three-spoke sports steering wheel.

Performance-wise, the 2021 Kodiaq gets three petrol and two diesel engine choices. The petrol variants are powered by a 1.5-litre TSI and a 2.0-litre TSI motors. The former churns out a maximum power of 150 bhp, while the latter generates 190 bhp power. The range-topping Kodiaq RS gets a more powerful 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that comes from VW Group’s EVO generation and dishes out 245 bhp power. There are two 2.0-litre TDI diesel powertrains available that develop 150 bhp power and 200 bhp power each. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic unit. While we can expect the India-spec Kodiaq to get the 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, the company might also introduce the 1.5-litre TSI unit.
