Bajaj Auto India has recently filed new trademarks for four brand names: Trekker, Glider, Marathon, and Freedom. The auto giant is likely to launch new bikes with the same name in India. The current trademark status shows Accepted and Advertised. The status of Bajaj Freedom is listed as marked for examination, which means that for now it has been assigned to an examiner to decide if it could be trademarked.
The possibilities of the brand using the name Marathon for its new bike are high. The Glider and Freedom are expected to be adventure cruiser bikes that could replace the outgoing Avenger series in the brand's lineup. The Trekker could be a nomenclature for an adventure motorcycle, which is likely to be based on one of the outgoing 250- or 400-cc bikes in the company's portfolio.
The Bajaj AS 150 and AS 200 are the only previous models in the company's lineup that aren't adventure or adventure touring bikes. The auto giant is aiming to be a part of the adventure bike segment, as the ADV Tourers have been performing rather well in India.
Bajaj will launch the Pulsar NS400 between April and June 2024. The bike is likely to come with the Dominar 400’s engine and be based on the company's NS200’s perimeter chassis.
