EV customers can access the new charging station via the brand’s Charger Management System in the myHyundai App. The app enables customers to easily navigate the facility, make digital payments, and monitor the charging status remotely. As of now, over 170 charging points are available in Tamil Nadu, and they are mapped in the myHyundai app's EV Charge section. The automaker is planning to expand its electric vehicle charging systems to 485 stations by 2030. Hyundai’s first mass-market EV is scheduled to be launched in 2025. This growth strategy is part of the company’s larger plan to promote sustainable mobility and increase EV adoption in India.

HMIL recently extended its EV fast-charging network across several cities and highways in India to over 10 locations. The company has installed 11 ultra-fast charging stations across the country, and each features three DC chargers: 30 kW, 150 kW, and 60 kW, in six major cities. These incorporate Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Gurugram. The Hyundai EV fast-charging network is installed in five key highway locations, including Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Chandigarh, Mumbai-Surat, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, and Mumbai-Nashik.

The Executive Director (Corporate Planning) at HMIL, Jae Wan Ryu, said, "Tamil Nadu is home for Hyundai Motor India Limited, and we have been committed to Tamil Nadu since our inception. As we celebrate 28 years of HMIL in India, we are delighted to inaugurate our first-ever 180 kW fast public charging station in Chennai. In line with Hyundai’s vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, we aim to enhance convenience of all EV users, and hence our charging stations can be utilized by any four-wheeler EV user. HMIL envisages to install 100 charging stations across Tamil Nadu, to enhance the EV ecosystem and motivate more customers towards EV adoption across the state.”
