Maruti Suzuki India Limited is an Indian subsidiary of Japanese automobile and motorbike manufacturer known as Suzuki. The alliance is popularly known as Maruti which at the time of its inception in 1981 was known as Maruti Udyog Limited. The first manufacturing facility was established at Gurugram, Haryana and another manufacturing facility was later established at Manesar, Haryana.

The indigenous manufacturer is well- known and well-recognized automobile manufacturer in the Indian market.

The company’s first model, Maruti 800 made its way on the Indian roads in 1983. Right from its first model the manufacturer is the most favorite brand among the Indian people. The is no automatic variant nor diesel variant of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800. The most expensive car model is Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara which mostly comes in manual transmission which is only available in diesel variant. The Grand Vitara model is priced at₹ 22.7Lacs.
