Besides the new color, the bike doesn't see any cosmetic or mechanical update

Yamaha India has launched the YFZ-R15 V3 in a new Metallic Red color at an introductory price of Rs 1.52 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. It will be available from today onwards across all the company authorized dealerships in India. Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 in ‘Metallic Red’ will retain the features and specifications of the standard model. Besides the newly introduced Metallic Red paint scheme, the BS6 YZF-R15 V3 is already available in three existing colours: Racing Blue, Thunder Grey and Darknight.

As for features, the bike will come loaded with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), Assist & Slipper (A&S) Clutch and Side Stand Engine Cut-off Switch. In fact, the entire Yamaha portfolio in the Indian market is now available with an in-built Side Stand Engine Cut-off Switch feature. For those asking, the aforementioned feature prevents engine ignition till the side stand is withdrawn. Yamaha R15 V3 takes on the likes of KTM RC 200, Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, Suzuki Gixxer and TVS Apache RTR 160 in the Indian market while clocking a top speed of 136kmph.

The bike has a 155 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine at the helm of affairs which develops top power of 18.5bhp at 10000rpm and peak torque of 14.1Nm at 8500rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission. The 'Darknight' color scheme is the most expensive one in R15 V3's range as it retails at Rs 1.54 Lakhs, followed by the Racing Blue shade which is priced at Rs 1.53 Lakhs. Both the prices are Ex.
