Here is the list of top 10 cars sold in India in March 2020.

FY20 has finally come to an end amidst the Corona virus pandemic and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to term it as possibly the worst year for the Indian automobile industry in the last decade. The month of March witnessed immensely low sales numbers as the country is under a 21 day lockdown and people have been advised to stay indoors. Hence, only two cars could cross the 10000+ units sales mark and almost every vehicle saw a big dip in numbers as compared to the March 2019.Furthermore, the implementation of BS6 emission norms added insult to injury as the OEMs also struggled to sell their remaining BS4 stock.

Maruti Baleno was India's numero-uno car in March 2020 with 11406 units sold during the month. It was followed closely by the Alto with 10,829 unit sold during March 2020. However, the numbers were nowhere close to those of March'19 as both these cars saw sales of 16000+ units last year in the same month. The third and fourth on the list were yet another Marutis in the form of Wagon R and Swift with 9151 and 8575 units, respectively. The fifth spot in the list was grabbed by the Kia Seltos, the first non-Maruti and first SUV too, with total sales of 7466 units. It was followed by yet another SUV in the sixth position in the form of Hyundai Creta with 6706 units. The South-Korean automaker had launched the new-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta BS6 on March 16, 2020.

Hyundai Venue, the recently launched sub-compact SUV, took the seventh position in the list with 6127 units. However, the eighth position was the change is trend as the Eeco utility van seized this spot with 5966 units. The ninth and tenth positions were grasped by Maruti Vitara Brezza and Dzire sedan with sales of 5513 and 5476 units, respectively. However, what is most shocking is that Maruti Dzire was the country's best-selling model in March 2019 with sales of 19935 units and exactly a year later, it is at the tenth with 72.53 percent decline in sales. In this list, the eleven to twenty spots were taken by Maruti Spresso, Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Celerio, Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Hyundai i20, Honda Amaze, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Aura and Maruti XL6, respectively.
