In comparison to its close relative, the Super Meteor 650, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is a motorcycle that is slightly lighter and shorter.

Royal Enfield, premium bike maker has unveiled its all-new Shotgun 650 production version. The bike was first shown at the company's Motoverse festival last month in a limited edition factory custom version; the model you see here is the one that will be shipped to customers when deliveries start.

The exterior coating is the main area where the two bikes differ; the Motoverse edition had a really nice hand-painted colorway with elements like a color gradient across the fuel tank. Three relatively simple paint schemes—Plasma Blue, Green Drill, Sheet Metal Grey, and Stencil White—are applied to the production bike.

It has the same 648cc parallel-twin engine producing 47 horsepower and 52.3 Nm as the Super Meteor 650 because it shares its engine and main frame with that vehicle. There are some ergonomic differences as well. The Shotgun has more mid-set footpegs and a flatter handlebar, which contribute to more upright seating.

Additionally, the Shotgun receives an 18-inch/17-inch combination instead of the 19-inch/16-inch setup, and wheel sizes are also altered. The suspension setup has had to be adjusted due to the different wheel sizes, but the fork and twin shock absorber combination remains the same. According to the spec sheet, the Shotgun weighs 240 kg, has a taller 795mm seat, a shorter wheelbase, and a shorter overall length. It also weighs 1 kg less than the previous model. Nevertheless, with a 13.8-liter fuel tank, it holds nearly 2 liters less fuel than the Super Meteor, making it the heavier bike of the two.

It shares many features with the Super Meteor, including dual-channel ABS, a Tripper navigation pod, and an LED headlight. Similar to the Classic 350, the new Shotgun 650 is available for purchase with or without a pillion seat.
