Hyundai India has finally launched the new-gen i20 hatchback at a starting price of Rs 6.79 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. Being introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims, the new-gen 2020 Hyundai i20 comes in four trims namely Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). The bookings for the hatch started on October 28, 2020 at the company's 'Click to Buy' digital platform and at Hyundai dealerships at a token payment of Rs 21,000. It is being offered with multiple engine and transmission options for the buyers.

The new-gen i20 is based on Hyundai's ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ global design philosophy while being offered in six monotone and two dual-tone color schemes. The single tone color options are Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night and Metallic Copper. On the other hand, the couple of dual-tone color options are Polar White with Black Roof and Fiery Red with Black Roof. Mechanically, the new-gen i20 comes with a total of three engine options: 1.2L naturally aspirated Kappa petrol engine, a 1.0L turbocharged GDi petrol engine and a 1.5L U2 CRDi diesel engine. The 1.2L petrol engine develops top power of 82bhp and 87bhp with 5-speed manual and iVT gearboxes, respectively while the torque performance remains unchanged at 114Nm.
