The car will be officially unveiled next week.

The car will officially be revealed at the Pebble Beach show. From the leaked images, you can see that the production roadster takes a lot of inspiration from the original concept.

BMW's drop-top sportscar will most probably be badged the M40i, which is expected to be the range-topping Z4 model. The picture of the engine bay confirms that this car will use a turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder unit shared with the M240i, expected to produce about 355hp. There will also be a Z4 30i version that will use a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that makes around 251hp.

The Z4 will be revealed at Pebble Beach in August and its specifications will be revealed at the Paris motor show in September.
