The official bookings of Kia Carens will begin from January 14 onwards in the country

Kia India is all set to launch its first product of 2022 - Carens sometime next month in the market. The Korean automaker has officially revealed the engine specifications and variant details of the MPV ahead of the launch. Besides this, the bookings for the MPV will commence from January 14 onwards. As for the price, we can expect the Carens to fall in the range of Rs 12 lakhs - Rs 20 lakhs (ex-showroom). 



Kia has announced that Carens will be offered in a total of five variants namely Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus. Besides this, the MPV will be offered in both six- and seven-seat layouts. In terms of features, the Carens will come equipped with a smart pure air purifier, fully automatic temperature control, three drive modes, Bose premium sound system with 8 speakers, 64 ambient mood lighting, a 4.2-inch TFT MID, among many others. The safety kit comprises six airbags, ABS, HAC, VSM, ESC, all-wheel disc brakes, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system Highline, and DBC (downhill brake control). The MPV features a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen navigation with 66 connected car features.

Performance-wise, the upcoming Kia Carens will come equipped with both petrol and diesel engine options. Having said that, the 1.5-litre petrol unit will be capable of returning a top power of 114 bhp. The 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine will churn out 139 bhp and will be seen on higher variants. The 1.5-litre diesel motor, on the other hand, will generate 114 bhp. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual as standard on the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units. Furthermore, the 1.5-litre diesel mill will also come with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Talking about the 1.4-litre petrol unit, it will be available with only a seven-speed DCT gearbox.
