Hyundai India introduces two new CNG trims of the hatchback: Magna Executive and Sportz Executive

Ahead of the festive season, Hyundai India has introduced two new trims of the Santro hatchback in the country. The new trims would run on CNG fuel and are named as Magna Executive CNG and Sportz Executive CNG. The South Korean automaker has discontinued the current CNG variants - Magna and Sportz - in the domestic market. The newly introduced variants are based on the outgoing variants with Sportz Executive trim getting additional features as compared to the Magna Executive. The Magna Executive variant is similar to the older Magna variant in terms of features and price.

Hyundai Santro Sportz Executive CNG trim comes packed with features like 6.95-inch touchscreen infotainment with support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Smartphone navigation. The Magna Executive CNG, on the other hand, comes with the standard 2-DIN stereo system with two speakers, Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted audio controls. In the higher-spec Sports Executive CNG, the buyers get electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated side turn indicators and day/night IRVM while the Magna Executive comes equipped with manual ORVMs and IRVMs. Apart from these, there’s not much to separate the newly introduced CNG trims on Santro.

Pricing wise, the Sportz Executive Trim is priced at a premium compared to the Magna Executive as it’s loaded with more features as compared with the latter. The intention of Hyundai is clear as it wants to promote the CNG trims as a premium offering for the Indian market.

Talking about the powertrains, both the new variants are powered by a naturally aspirated 1.1-litre engine delivering 59.18 bhp of maximum power output and 85.32 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox. The company is trying to rev up sales in the domestic market ahead of the festive season with the addition of new CNG trims.
