The sub-500cc bike will lead the charge for India, and there will be an adventure tourer, streetfighter and a range of electric bikes.

The company has announced three new modular platforms for India, which will cover 500cc to 1250cc. The road-going Livewire electric motorcycle will go on sale by August 2019, and many more (smaller and more affordable) models will join the Livewire family in the future. The company will also, for the first time, bring small capacity, 250-500cc bike for India and Asian markets.

The company calls the project ‘More roads to Harley-Davidson’. The plan will see HD launch over 100 new motorcycles by 2027. Harley has also given us a sneak-peek of bikes expected before 2020 – including the Pan America 1250, a 1250cc Custom model and a 975cc Streetfighter model.

Significant investment will be required and the company has said it will look at 'comprehensive cost reduction and reallocation of previously planned investment and resources, including operating investment through 2022 of $450 to $550 million and capital investment through 2022 of $225 to $275 million'.

With the 'More Roads to Harley-Davidson' plan, the company’s target is set at generating $1 billion of additional revenue in 2022 as compared to 2017.
