Ferrari has adapted an electronic device testing technique to speed up its EV car development. Ferrari has embarked on a major transformation toward electrification; it has turned its factory in northern Italy into a center for battery-powered cars. Ferrari’s new fully electric car is scheduled to be released in 2025. The Chief Executive of Ferrari, Benedetto Vigna, disclosed on Thursday that the company is accelerating the development process of its first electric car.
The technique used in electronic devices will now be adapted by Ferrari, and the new EV will now undergo the same smartphone-like testing phase. The new Ferrari EV is in the prototype phase for now. Previous executive at chipmaker STMicroelectronics, Vigna, shared this information with journalists that Ferrari is utilizing the "Hardware-in-the-Loop" (HIL) technique.

"Hardware-in-the-Loop" (HIL) is a stimulation-based technique used to speed up the debugging phase of electronic devices. This technique is reserved for computers or smartphones, it stimulates the product’s behaviors under different conditions.
The HIL technique used in electronic devices smooths their acceleration. Vigna stated that “we have also adopted it for cars." According to Vigna, with this new approach, Ferrari has resolved the issues they were facing during the final stages of the development of their hybrid models.
The Italian luxury carmaker is all set to reveal the upcoming Ferrari EV on its planned timeline. With the new assembly facility, the ‘e-building,’ located in Maranello, is scheduled to be completed by June 2024. The company is achieving its target for vehicle development and infrastructure.
