Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has come up with some good news for motorcycle enthusiasts in India, as Honda aims to introduce new models under the Honda Big Wing portfolio of premium motorcycles.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has come up with some good news for motorcycle enthusiasts in India. The company has revealed its big plan for India at the EICMA 2019 motorcycle show in Milan, which includes manufacturing big bikes in India.

The company aims to introduce new models under the Honda Big Wing portfolio of premium motorcycles. As per the plans, the company will focus on the manufacturing of bigger bikes rather than importing them as completely knocked down (CKD) kits and completely built units (CBU).

The HMSI has announced the company’s aim to focus on "Make in India for the world" initiative without specifying the models that will be manufactured in India and when the manufacturing plans will actually commence.

On this occasion, the company’s Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Yadvinder Singh Guleria said “Globally Honda has a strong legacy of fun riding - be it for fun urban riding, super sport racing, luxurious touring or even off-roading. Starting April 2019, Honda spearheaded its new premium bike business identity under Silver Wing-Mark branded as Honda Big Wing. Honda will unleash Phase II of its premium business vertical in the new BS-VI era. Customers can expect double the fun with 13 iconic global models including 5 brand new models. This will be supported by an exclusive network for sales and service in 75 cities".

The sales network of Honda Big Wing, which is the company’s premium bike identity is said to be increased from 23 cities to 75 cities. The number of models under the Big WinG portfolio is expected to grow to 13 models from the current 7 models. Under Honda’s Big Wing initiative, one can expect to see five brand new models in the Indian market.

Also, the models lying in the range of 300cc to 1800cc would get brand new updates globally, With these aggressive plans, HMSI look forwards to offer value for money bikes to customers in the premium bike segment.
