BS 6 Ford Endeavour debuts all-new 2.0L EcoBlue diesel engine and a first-of-its-kind 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ford India has launched the BS 6 compliant Endeavour SUV in a price range of Rs 29.55-33.25 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. The aforementioned pricing, though, will be applicable till April 30, and post that it will witness a price hike of upto Rs 70,000. Ford Endeavour is the only SUV in its segment to get a BS 6 compliant engine as others like Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Isuzu MU-X are still sold with a BS 4 engine. However, Toyota has opened the pre-bookings for BS 6 Fortuner and its production has also commenced. The BS 6 Ford Endeavour will be available in three colours: Diffused Silver, Absolute Black, and Diamond White.

The BS 6 version of the SUV doesn't get heavy visual updates but the company has made a few subtle changes. The headlamps have been restyled partially while the faux vent at the fender shows just 'ENDEAVOUR' badge and doesn't reflect the engine capacity anymore. The cabin layout is identical to the BS 4 model, except for the new gear lever. Some of the premium features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & SYNC 3 connectivity suite, panoramic sun-roof, seven airbags, automatic headlamps and wipers, DRLs, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power-adjustable driver & front passenger seat, push start button, hand-free power lift rear gate, rear and front parking sensors, rear parking camera etc. to name a few.

The BS 6 Ford Endeavour also gets several first-in-segment features in form of fold-flat second- and power-fold third-row, Active Noise Cancellation, and Terrain Management System (TMS) with four preset modes – Normal, Snow/Mud/Grass, Sand and Rock. In addition, Ford’s globally-renowned mobility and connectivity solution FordPass is included as standard feature at no additional cost. Mechanically, the SUV is pakced with a BS 6 compliant all-new 2.0L EcoBlue diesel engine which replaces the 2.2L TDCi and 3.2L Duratorq diesel engines. It delivers 170bhp of top power and 420Nm of peak torque while mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, which is a first-of-its-kind anywhere in the world. The SUV also gets the Clever four-wheel-drive system with Torque on demand. The fuel economy for 4X2 and 4X4 variants stand at 13.90kmpl (segment-best) and 12.4kmpl, respectively. The company claims the 2020 Ford Endeavour to be 14 percent more fuel efficient than the outgoing model.
