Maruti Suzuki has been a dominating market leader of the Indian automobile industry from a very long time. The cars made by the company are not only efficient but durable too. Maruti Suzuki has also been one of the top car sellers in the market, in the year 2015, the revenue of Maruti Suzuki’s sales was 51 percent of the total market revenue. These figures are attained by the vast portfolio of the maker which consists of cars like the Maruti Suzuki S-cross.
The Maruti Suzuki S-cross is one of the best cars manufactured by the maker. It is a crossover SUV when measured, but the elements that are included in the car make it no less than an off-road terrain vehicle. It houses a powerful engine and macho looks that suit the performance of the car. The looks and the performance of the car carve out a different niche of the car in itself.
Having seen the overview, let us move towards the comprehensive Maruti Suzuki S-cross review:
The looks of the car resemble an off-road terrain vehicle with an aggressive appearance. The fascia of the car features a chrome grille with vertical slats that feature the signature ‘S’ logo in the centre; the front bumper gets a large air dam in the centre and fog lights on both sides. From the sides, the grille looks sliding down with upright headlamps. The doors of the car have smooth lines, and the plastic cladding on the sides in silver defines the look of the car. The rear of the car gets a rear windshield wiper with a chrome ‘S’ logo under it.
Just as it attracts viewers from outside with its exteriors, the car is even more pleasing on the inside. The interior of the car is painted in black colour which gives the car an elegant look. The dashboard is also coloured in black with silver insets near the instrument panel with soft touch textured plastic. For comfort, the car has a spacious interior that offers ample space for legroom for both driver and passengers. The premium crossover gets automatic climate control, 8-inch touchscreen display, steering mounted audio control and power windows. It gets dual front airbags as standard along with ABS and EBD.
The S-cross is the first car from Maruti Suzuki that gets the Multijet 1.3-litre 88.5bhp 16V DDiS 200 diesel engine that generates power upto 88.5bhp@4000rpm and torque upto 200Nm@1750rpm. The powerful engine by the maker offers displacement upto 1248cc. For safety, the car features disc brakes, and for the rear, the car features solid disc brakes. The company is also looking forward to launching the Maruti Suzuki S-cross 2018 version which will feature the 1.5-litre diesel engine.
