About Mahindra Ssangyong Tivoli

SsangYong Motor Company is the fourth largest South Korean based automobile manufacturer which is now a subsidiary of Indian multinational automotive company Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. The company was founded in the year in the year 1954. The former Korean company was the famous auto giant that had a good reputation at its peak time. The company made its presence felt in around  90+ countries across the world.

The company manufactured its first large-sized buses in Korea and also started exporting the buses later in the year 1966. Later on, the company started manufacturing fire trucks. The company also tried its hand in the car market in the year 1933 when they developed the Musso and Korando. The company also made a luxury sedan called chairman in the year 1997.

After the acquisition by Mahindra& Mahindra, the company launched the Tivoli in the year 2015.  The launch proved to be fruitful as within a year of its launch, the company reported its first-ever net profit in  9 years. In the year 2017, SsangYong sold 106,677 units in domestic sales and 37,008 units in exports, which was a record high in the past 14 years. Out of the total sales, the Tivol model alone contributed over 50,000 units of domestic sales for the company.

Mahindra is working with its SsangYong subsidiary to bring out high performance electric vehicles in the south- Korean market. Mahindra and SsangYong seek to increase collaboration on internal combustion engines and also electric cars. At the present moment, the company produces two car models which are Mahindra Ssangyong Tivoli  which is priced at ₹ 10 Lacs Onwards while the Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton comes at a price range ₹ 23.76 - ₹ 25.14 Lacs
