About Hyundai Santro

Hyundai Santro is one of those models which the 90s kids are quite familiar with. There is no denying the fact that the mini car model sports a unique look. Santro kick-started Hyundai’s journey in the diverse Indian automobile market as we see it today. The South Korean manufacturer has one of the biggest portfolios in the country as it sells everything from an entry-level hatchback to a budget SUV and a premium SUV. It all started with Santro, the oldest Hyundai model which helped the brand to set foot on the market. Santro was still alive in the form of Santro Xing – a model discontinued just a couple of years ago.

The first-gen Hyundai Santro is like the master copy of all the Hyundai vehicles today in India. It is the blueprint, and regardless of the car variant, the inspiration is somewhere drawn from Santro. The Hyundai Santro has one of the most quirky looks.

Having seen the overview, let us learn more about this model by diving deep in the Hyundai Santro review:

Exterior:

On the outside, Hyundai Santro gets a very rounded curve design which makes the model look attractive. First gen Santro still looks better than the current version of Maruti Alto K10. There is some charm to Hyundai’s exterior design when it comes to its portfolio in India. Santro is quite simple on the outside with rounded headlamps surrounding the horizontal slat. From the side profile, the car is pretty simple too with no designs and just a single contour which forms the character line. The parking lights are elegantly designed on the back side with the tail lights. There are mirrors on both sides which give a clear view of the traffic on both sides.

Interior:

Inside, Hyundai Santro is way better than its competitors when you look back in time. Stylish dashboard and comfortable steering help in making this Hyundai model a comfortable car. Sophisticated design with decent space for headroom and legroom just adds to the convenience. This model is quite spacious and can seat upto three adults in the rear end without much hassle. The rearview mirror is placed exactly in the middle of front seats, above the audio system to enable the driver to look at the vehicles at the back.

Specifications:

As for the specifications, the Hyundai Santro houses a 1086cc 4-cylinder petrol mill which produces 63bhp @ 5500rpm and generates 9.8Nm @ 3000rpm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox which transmits power to the front wheels. The mileage offered by the Hyundai Santro is a decent 15.3kmpl with the model hitting the top speed of 148 km/hr.

Variants:

Hyundai Santro is available in more than 40 variants. The model has been discontinued, and thus only used cars are available.

Price:

Hyundai Santro on-road price in India lies in the range between INR 2.97-3.25 lakh based on the variants. However, since the production has been discontinued, you can buy the used Hyundai Santro for a lower price. If you wish to buy a Used Hyundai Santro car, then you can get it for a price between INR 90,000-1.75 lakh based on the condition of the car.
