Honda 2-Wheelers India was established in 1999. It is the fully-owned Indian subsidiary of Honda Motor Company. The company started its Indian operation in Manesar, Gurgaon in May 2001. Its first model 'Activa' was launched in 2001, which gave a new life to the scooter segment. Furthermore, the brand is the second-largest two wheeler manufacturer in India after its erstwhile partner Hero MotoCorp. The company is best known for its popular Activa scooter range. With the advent of BS6 emission norms, the scooter range has also received an update. Apart from these, the company also sells premium products from its international portfolio. These include Africa Twin and CBR 1000RR to name a few.

The company has over 6200+ customer touchpoints across India. Presently, Mr. Atsushi Ogata is the President, CEO, and Managing Director of the Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India. Besides this, Mr Ogata is also the Operating Executive at the Honda Motor Co., Japan. Furthermore, Mr. V. Sridhar is the Senior Director, Purchase (HMSI) currently. In addition, Mr. Yadvender Singh Guleria and Mr Vinay Dhingra are the Board of Directors of HMSI.
