About Honda CB Shine SP

Honda is among the market leaders in the Indian automobile industry which ventures into the two-wheelers and four-wheelers segments; the brand is very popular in India. Honda is a Japan-based company that produces automobiles, commercial vehicles, luxury vehicles, motorcycles and Scooters. The company had a tough time while entering the Indian market, but now the company has its own production company as Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Private Limited (HMSI). Honda is known for its vehicles that offer high performance and durability, but at the same time, the company bears the reputation of selling powerful sports bikes across the globe.

Though the brand is known for its high mileage commuter bikes, Honda’s superbikes are a tough competition to many well-known bike models. The company produces the following sports bike models.

  1. Honda Gold Wing: The Honda Goldwing is one of the most popular sports touring bike and is very renowned around the world for its touring capabilities. The Gold Wing GL 1800 features a six-speed 80W SRS surround-sound system with USB connectivity which can be used to connect devices. The vehicle runs on a 1,832cc flat-six liquid-cooled engine that generates power upto 116bhp and torque upto 167Nm. The Gold Wing faces competition from the Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special and the BMW K1600GT.

  1. CBR 1000 RR: The CBR 1000 RR also known as ‘Fireblade’ is considered to be one of the most advanced motorcycles till date. The bike is a package of electronic and mechanic features that enhance the performance of the bike. The new version of the bike is aerodynamically designed to formulate proper air intake. The bike comes with all-LED headlamps and an adaptive TFT instrument console, which automatically adjusts brightness according to ambient light. There are three riding modes – Track, Winding and Street. With a 999cc inline-four engine, the bike generates power upto 190bhp and 114Nm of torque.

  1. Africa Twin: The bike gets its name due to the XR750 which is a four-time winner at the Dakar Rally. The bike features Twin Lamp LED Headlight, which ensures brighter and richer vision when the rider is on a dark road. The front lamp is designed to stay on to meet the Always Headlight On (AHO). Traction control has four settings, off and levels 1-3. Level 1 is the most aggressive while level 3 is easy to the rider. The bike has a small fairing that runs from the headlamp to the petrol tank. The bike has a liquid-cooled 998cc parallel-twin engine that gives the maximum power output upto 86bhp at 7,500rpm and torque upto 92Nm at 6,000rpm.

The brand competes with superbikes like the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R1000, BMW S1000RR, Yamaha YZF-R1 and the Aprilia RSV4. Thus people are expecting more from the upcoming Honda superbikes.
