Hero MotoCorp Limited, more popularly known as Hero Motorcycles, is the homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer that produces motorbikes and scooters and scooters. The company was originally called Hero Honda Motors from a period of 1984 to 2010, that is 26 years.
The Hero MotoCorp has been the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers since the year 2001.
Hero MotoCorp has its headquarters in New Delhi. The company was established with the alliance with Honda in the year 1984. The Hero Motocorp has a history in manufacturing bicycles in India by the name of Hero cycles that was founded in the year 1956. In the year 1975, the company achieved its status as the largest manufacturer of bicycles in India. Later in the year 1983, the company formed a joint venture with the Japanese automaker, Honda.
The result was the birth of Hero Honda Motors Limited that later became the largest manufacturer of two-wheelers in the world in the year 2001.
However, the partnership ended in the year 2010 when Honda sold its 26% of shares to hero. The company was then renamed to Hero MotoCorp in August 2011.
Hero Motocorp has five manufacturing plant in India. The five manufacturing plants can produce more than 9 million vehicles annually. Their manufacturing plants are based in Satyavedu (Andhra Pradesh), Dharuhera (Haryana), Gurgaon (Haryana), Neemrana (Rajasthan), Haridwar(Uttarakhand).
At present, Hero MotoCorp has over 7,000 dealership and service centre units in 29 states and four union territories of India.
The company’s most successful bike model was the Hero Honda Splendour that broke all record for bike sales. The bike positioned the company as the top bike manufacturing in India. In fact, the company crossed the 50 million production milestone in the year 2013.

Hero bike price in India starts from ₹ 37.64k which is the ex-showroom price of their cheapest bike Hero HF Dawn. The company most expensive bike is Hero Hastur which is priced at Rs. 5 lacs onwards.
Hero bike are known for their reliability and durability. The power figures of Hero bikes range from Hero HF Dawn which produces a peak power of 8.36bhp to the Hero Hastur that produces a peak power of 78.9 bhp.
The engine displacement figure in the Hero line-up starts from Hero HF Dawn which is a 100cc bike up to the Hero Hastur has an engine of 620cc which is the highest cc engine in the Hero line-up.
The highest fuel efficiency of Hero bikes is given by Hero Splendor ismart that gives a fuel efficiency of 102.5 Km in one litre of fuel.
As per the latest information available from the brand side, there are three Hero new bike models that will be launched in the year 2019. The upcoming Bikes are Hero XF3R that will be priced at ₹ 1.85 lakh Onwards, Hero Super Splendor iSmart that will be priced at ₹ 58,850 onwards, Hero Dare that will be priced at ₹ 56K.
The Hero bikes on road price start from 40k onwards which is the on-road price of their bike model Hero HF Dawn. The on-road price for their most expensive bike is Rs. 5.46 Lacs which is the price of the Hero Hastur bike model.
