About Hero Splendor iSmart

Hero MotoCorp is one of the biggest motorcycle manufacturing company in India. The company is known for manufacturing bikes in the commuter segment and has its headquarters in Gurgaon, India. The company was established in the year 1956 as Hero Cycles and was a prominent manufacturer of bicycles in India. In the year 1984, the company collaborated with the Japanese manufacturer Honda Motors and formed a separate alliance company. The company was named Hero Honda and was considered as a motorcycle producing unit for both companies.

Hero Honda launched many breakthrough bikes in the Indian market which then ruled by mainstream models. Bikes like Splendor and Passion became the highest selling bikes and even began dominating the market sales. However, the coalition ended in the year 2010 due to internal disputes; this led to the formation of Hero MotoCorp. According to the terms of termination, Hero got the rights to produce major of the older vehicles which includes the highest selling models like the Passion and Splendor.

During the course of years, Hero MotoCorp has been selling bikes as a single entity and most of its bikes are based on the older models. The Hero Splendor ismart is a revamped and modernized version of the Splendor series. The bike was officially launched at a dealer event at Gurgaon, loaded with features and a powerful engine the bike caught the attention of the auto aficionados instantly.


The structure and silhouette of the bike are similar to its predecessors, but there are some interesting features that make the bike worth buying. The latest model comes with a refreshed look which comprises of appealing graphics, striking new paint tones and some cosmetic upgrades. The front of the bike is ornamented with a contemporary headlamp cluster and a well-curved visor. It also features the split grab rails, lifted rear fender and imposing rear lamp. The company has also added a redesigned instrument cluster which is made of three dials for speedometer, Fuel Gauge and a tachometer.

Technical Specification

The bike runs on the 100-cc air-cooled four-stroke single cylinder engine which has the capacity to generate maximum power upto 7.9bhp at 7500 rpm and maximum torque upto 8.04Nm at 4500 rpm. For better performance and fuel efficiency, the engine has been mated to a four-speed transmission.
