Eicher Polaris is a joint venture of Eicher Motors and Polaris India. Eicher Motors Limited (EML) is an Indian manufacturer of motorcycles and commercial vehicles and Eicher is the parent company of Royal Enfield. The Indian wing of Polaris Industries is Polaris India that had undergone a joint venture of 50:50 partnership with Eicher Motors in July 2012, which was named as "Eicher Polaris Pvt. Ltd.". This joint venture started with an initial investment of Rs. 350 crores, but in 2018, the figure has increased up to Rs.493 crores. Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries started a combined effort for research and development facilities in their new manufacturing plant is located at Kukas in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Their joint venture came up with a personal utility vehicle - Eicher Polaris Multix, which was declared in June 2015 and was delivered on 26 August 2015. Eicher Polaris Multix was promoted by its manufacturer as "India's first personal utility vehicle", as the vehicle can be used as a people carrier, a cargo carrier and also a power generator.
