Datsun with GO re-entered the Indian market after 27 years. The car was launched in the year 2014 and is quite similar to Nissan’s Micra. The interior of the car has been inherited from Nissan’s entry-level hatchback too. Datsun GO is an attractive hatchback with a spacious cabin. The new budget hatchback from Nissan stable is being sold to numerous developing markets including India and Indonesia. Exterior: Datsun GO hatchback gets a hexagonal grille which is accompanied by chrome inserts around the headlights as well. The headlights in this car model flow from the front to the middle. This hatchback has a muscular appeal thanks to the grille-bumper combination. The side profile of Datsun is quite similar to that of Micra as it draws inspiration from the latter. A unique feature in Datsun is that windows come with black cladding which matches the colour of overview rear mirrors. Other features include stacked light design, minimal badging which makes bootlid look clean.
Interior: On the inside, the Datsun GO gets two-tone interiors with the beige trim being the primary colour and black being the secondary colour. Other noticeable features include a digital tachometer, instantaneous fuel economy, follow-me-home headlamps, fuel economy, air-conditioning and AUX-in with two speakers, speed sensitive wipers and silver finish front radiator grille. There are different options in higher variants such as air conditioner with filter, Jacquard seat upholstery to the equation, Mobile Docking Station, front speakers, full wheel covers and central locking.
Specifications: Under the hood, the Datsun GO is powered by a 1.2-litre engine which generates a power of 67hp and produces a torque of 104Nm. As for the transmission, the model is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Datsun GO provides a fuel efficiency of 20.6 kmpl and reaches a top speed of 150 kmph. There are other options available as well such as CNG and LPG conversions.
Variants: Datsun GO is available in five variants – D, A EPS, 1, Anniversary Edition and T (O).
Price: As for Datsun GO price in India, an entry-level model starts at INR 3.3 lakh considering price after GST. The top-level T (O) variant is priced at INR 4.3 lakh. A used Datsun Go is priced between INR 2.5 lakh to 4 lakh.
