  1. Use Best Offer to negotiate on price with the seller.

  2. Read vehicle descriptions carefully and conduct your research.

  3. In case you’re shopping from a Dealer, visit the Dealer page to know more details about the seller.

  4. Read product ratings and reviews to develop more comfort around the product.

  5. Add the item(s) you like into Watchlist as it will help enable you to compare various vehicles and determine which is ideal for you later.

  6. Secure your deal swiftly after paying the token amount. To expedite the process and finalize your transaction.

  7. Make sure you know the exact payment preferences listed by the seller before you meet the seller.

  8. Go through the buyer checklist for closing the transaction before you meet the seller.

Check if Buyer Protection program is available on the vehicle you are planning to buy. Under Buyer Protection you get free vehicle cover of up to ₹50 Lacs for specific vehicles bought through Droom.

Things you should keep in mind while involved in interstate transactions:

  • If your vehicle is financed by a bank and you have taken a loan then you need to get a state transfer NOC from the respective bank.*
  • Apply for NOC from the RTO where your vehicle is registered with Form 27 and Form 28, Xerox copy of the NOC you obtained from the bank and other documents related to vehicles such as: 

i. Application requesting for NOC for interstate transfer, 

ii. Certificate of registration, 

iii. Insurance, tax, Pollution Under Control certificate (emission test certificate), 

iv. Original Chassis Imprint of the vehicle, 3-4 Copies of CMV Form 28, 

v. NOC from the police to speed up the process (or else the RTO will give you a clearance form that you can get signed from the police department), 

vi. NOC from traffic police that there is no due of any fine for traffic violation etc.

  • Once your car is relocated, you have to approach the RTO for re-registration of the number, with following main documents: 

i. Form 29-30 for re-registration of the number, 

ii. Original RC copy, 

iii. Copy of Insurance of the car, 

iv. Copy of the NOC you obtained in previous steps, 

v. Pollution under control/emission test certificate, 

vi. Original Chassis Imprint of the vehicle, 

vii. Photo ID and local address proof of the owner of the vehicle, 

viii. Applicable fees like Road tax, 

ix. Octroi charges (Octroi charges should be calculated based on the depreciated value of the vehicle),

x. After submitting these documents, you should get the number issued.

  • There might be significant costs involved about the entire process of interstate transfer and re-registration of your vehicle, accurate estimates of which can be obtained only from relevant authorities.
