About BMW R nineT Racer

BMW is one of the most popular brands in the automobile industry; the brand can be counted among the top trendsetters in the market. Though they make cars that offer comfort and smooth driving, the bikes made by the German company are one step ahead. BMW Motorrad is known to manufacture bikes that are fast, agile, powerful, good looking and everything that a bike lover could imagine. The Motorrad division was started in the year 1923, but the brand was introduced recently to the Indian audience. The brand has launched three major models namely the BMW 1000R, R nine T and R 1200 while there are variants of these models that are sold with minor modifications.

  1. BMW S 1000 R: The BMW S 1000 R is the base model of the Naked street fighter S 1000 RR. The bike has an aggressive stance owing to the twin headlamps that are designed in such a way that they emanate a dominating appeal. Apart from the headlamps and the front fascia, the vented side fairings of the bike that blend with the fuel tank and highlights the sporty look of the bike. It also features the Bosch IMU that enhances the ABS and lean angle sensitive traction control. The Sport model features - Gear Shift Assist Pro (which is a bi-directional quickshifter), ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and cruise control. The bike runs on the Euro 4 compliant, 999cc in-line four-cylinder engine that generates power upto 162bhp and 112 Nm of torque.

  1. BMW R nine T: The bike features a roadster body type and is designed with the café racer in mind. The bike flaunts the round headlamps, spoked wheels and aluminium accents that give it a classic look. It features a detachable pillion seat while the height of the bike can be adjusted according to the length of the connector accessory pipe. The bike runs on the air-cooled flat-twin 1170cc boxer engine which is able to generate power upto 110bhp at 7550rpm and maximum torque of 119Nm at 6000rpm. The power of the vehicle is entirely generated from its rear wheel via chain drive that is coupled with the six-speed gearbox.

  1. BMW R 1200: The R1200 is another superbike from the German maker; the bike is a naked streetfighter body type. It is also much lighter than its sibling R1200 RT. The bike has typical streetfighter body design with lowered headlamps and the beefy front forks and an upswept handlebar. The fuel tank of the bike is designed to offer comfort to the rider for long rides but still, sustains the elegance and classic look; the pillion seats are stepped up and have grab rails. The bike runs on the 1170cc boxer-twin petrol engine that has the capacity of generating power upto 124bhp and 125Nm of torque. The engine is liquid cooled and is mated six-speed gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels through a shaft drive.

Just like its cars, the German maker has successfully managed to pull a substantial amount of audience towards the brand, but as it competes with rivals like MV Agusta, Triumph and Ducati, the upcoming BMW superbikes have to be better.
