There is only one Bajaj scooter on sale in India, which comes in an all-electric avatar. The company has brought back the legendary Chetak nameplate back, albeit in a fully electric version this time. Bajaj has no upcoming scooters in India right now. However, it might expand the number of cities for the sale of Chetak from two to double digits. Bajaj is known to have developed some of the finest scooters in India with the Chetak ruling the roost in the era of 80s and 90s. Bajaj scooters was founded in 1945 by Jamnalal Bajaj in Pune, Maharashtra. The company has three manufacturing facilities in India at Chakan (Pune), Waluj (near Aurangabad) and Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. Being the third-largest two-wheeler maker in the world and second in India, Bajaj Auto has a R&D centre 'Ahead' in Akurdi, Pune. Bajaj scooters exports to 70+ countries abroad and a has significant share of revenues coming from the exports. The company has produced several legendary products for Indian buyers in the form of Chetak and Blade. In 2007, it acquired a 14 percent stake in KTM which has since grown to a whooping 48 percent presently. Though, they are sold via separate showrooms and not through Bajaj authorized dealerships.

Having completed 70 years of operations this year in India, Bajaj scooters has more than 1000 sales and service points in India. Mr. Rahul Bajaj is the Chairman of Bajaj Auto, while Mr. Madhur Bajaj is the Vice Chairman. Rahul Bajaj is the Managing Director of the company while Pradeep Shrivastava is the Executive Director. Besides the aforementioned four people, the Board of Directors at Bajaj Auto also includes Sanjiv Bajaj, Shekhar Bajaj, D.J. Balaji Rao, Dr. Omkar Goswami, Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Gita Piramal, Niraj R.
