News Highlights

  • Classic Legends has announced Yezdi revival in November 2018
  • Yezdi Roadking was spotted in pre-production guise
  • It could be launched in India by the end of this year

Classic Legends is bringing back the iconic 'Yezdi' motorcycle in the Indian market. If latest reports are to be believed, the brand has begun testing the Yezdi as the first images of the same recently emerged on the web. It was in November 2018 when Classic Legends had made it clear that Yezdi would be making a comeback in India post the revival of Jawa brand. Going by the spy-image, it can be stated that the new Yezdi would be introduced in a 'Scrambler' avatar to directly rival Honda CB350RS and Royal Enfield Meteor.

Speaking to our friends at AutoCar India during the launch of Jawa motorcycles, Anupam Thareja, founder, Classic Legends had said that company was working on "a new-generation Yezdi, which will certainly hold tremendous appeal, is not going to be a rebadged Jawa and will demand independent and wholesome development.” Taking a closer look at the spy-shot, it appears that the new bike is going to be a modern day Scrambler which will flaunt a tall handlebar, short tail and a flat seat. One can also see the unfinished exhaust pipe which clearly indicates that it is a pre-production version and it might take the company 6-9 months to launch the production-ready version of the bike in the Indian market.

Presently, there is no word on the engine specifications but the spy image indicates that the radiator and engine head design are similar to that on Jawa bikes. It could be entirely possible that new Yezdi would borrow engine and transmission from the Jawa bikes on sale in India. Furthermore, the peculiar Yezdi stripes at the lower casing confirms that the iconic moniker is indeed set for a comeback. As for the particular model, in all likelihood, it will be the Yezdi Roadking with the signature round headlamp, albeit with all-LED lighting. Yezdi Roadking price is expected to start below Rs 2 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) while it goes on sale by the end of this year.
