Indian Yamaha Motor has issued a recall for its YZF-R3 model of motorcycles. The recall has been issued due to concerns regarding a leaking radiator hose and widening of the torsion spring. 1874 units have been identified as having this issue. It includes both motorcycles sold domestically and those that have been exported. The issue is with models that were manufactured between July 2015 and May 2018.
Although no issues have been reported in India, Yamaha has initiated a voluntary recall programme for all bikes manufactured within the given dates. The repairs will be totally free of cost and can be carried out at the nearest authorised Yamaha service centre. The owners of the bikes with this issue will be individually contacted.
The R3 is a 321cc twin cylinder motorcycle that was launched in India in 2015. Since launch, this has been the third recall so far. The first recall was to do with clutch and oil pump issues. The second recall was regarding the fuel tank bracket and main switch assembly.
