Yamaha shows 5 updated models.

The bike maker has updated the Tracer 900, and has added a GT model as well. Yamaha also showed the MT-09 SP and XT1200ZE Super Ténéré Raid Edition for 2018. The Japanese bike maker also had the impressive Ténéré 700 World Raid prototype motorcycle on display.

Ténéré 700 World Raid prototype

The Ténéré 700 World Raid prototype is powered by a 689cc engine derived from the MT-07 naked. The bike is fitted with an Akrapovič exhaust, mounted to suit its rally-aspirant nature, a 43mm upside-down front fork and the Dakar Rally inspired four-projector headlamp. The bike maker wants to test the bike in different conditions around the world before it hits production.

2018 XT1200ZE Super Ténéré Raid Edition

This new edition of the XT1200ZE Super Ténéré is inspired by the Ténéré 700 World Raid prototype. The bike has been updated to perform better off-road and is powered by a 1,199cc twin-cylinder motor. There are a host of rider assists on this bike, including traction control, cruise control, an electronically adjustable suspension and combined braking. It will go on sale internationally from March 2018.

Tracer 900 and Tracer 900 GT

The Tracer 900 GT was shown at EICMA and the bike maker also updated its Tracer 900. The new 2018 Tracer 900 offers better wind protection, gets a redesigned aluminium swingarm with a reworked rear shock, apart from a slew of other changes. The 900 GT features a TFT LCD instrument panel and body-coloured panniers as standard.

MT-09 SP

The MT-09 is built using components from the bigger MT-10 SP, and this bike features a Silver Blu Carbon paint scheme, 10-spoke wheels, LED split-headlights, and a swingarm-mounted registration plate holder. Mechanically, there’s a new front fork, an Öhlins monoshock that’s fully adjustable and paired with a remote adjuster as well. The quickshifter and the slipper clutch, and a host of electronics like switchable traction control and D-Mode (Yamaha’s three-level riding mode feature) are new on this bike.
