Yamaha India has launched the Aerox 155 maxi scooter at a sticker price of Rs 1.29 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. It has been introduced in two color choices namely Racing Blue & Grey Vermillion. In addition, Yamaha Aerox 155 will also be available in Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition. The Aerox 155 deliveries are expected to start from the end of this month through Yamaha’s Blue Square showrooms across the country. The scooter comes loaded with a plethora of advanced features while powered by a 155cc engine.

As far as design is concerned, Yamaha Aerox 155 is based on the concept of a “Heart-Shaking Speedster” with three focus points namely Proud Body Size, Athletic Proportions, and the ‘X’ Centre Motif. The front is dominated by LED headlights while the tail-lamp cluster at the rear boasts of 12 compact LEDs with 3D appearance. The Aerox 155 has been equipped with a large 5.8-inch LCD screen with Multi Information Display (MID) which showcases a speedometer, RPM, VVA indicator and Bluetooth enabled Yamaha Connect App Phone notifications, Maintenance recommendations, Last parked location, Fuel consumption, Malfunction notification, Revs Dashboard, and Ranking. The information displayed can also be toggled via the handlebar switch.


The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels with with 110 mm front tyre and even wider 140mm rear tyre. The front braking duties are helmed by a 230mm disc brake with a single-channel ABS. With a ground clearance of 145 mm, the scooter also gets an external fuel lid. There is a 26 mm telescopic suspension upfront while the rear has dual pitch springs. If we talk about storage, Yamaha Aerox 155 comes with under seat space of 24.5 litres which is adequate for one full-face helmet and rain gear. The fuel tank capacity stands at 5.5 litres. There is also a USB charging socket for Smartphone charging.

Mechanically, it is powered by a new generation 155 cc Blue Core engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). The top power and peak torque are ranked at 15 bhp at 8000 rpm and 13.9 Nm at 6500 rpm, respectively, while mated to a CVT unit. The engine gets a new cylinder head and a compact combustion chamber while A DiASil Cylinder has also been used. The AEROX 155 also gets a Smart Motor Generator System for quiet engine starts, whereas the Stop & Start System, boosts fuel efficiency. Commenting on the launch, Mr. Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India group of companies said, “Under the umbrella of ‘The Call of the Blue’ Campaign, Yamaha has launched several exciting products in the Motorcycle and Scooter category."
