Here are the top 5 reasons justifying ‘Why you should buy Skoda Kushaq?’

MQB-AO-IN Platform

Skoda Kushaq is based on the India-specific MQB-AO-IN platform which is basically a cheaper derivative of Volkswagen Group’s modular MQB architecture. This platform will underpin a wide range of vehicles for different segments. Skoda Kushaq is the first mid-sized SUV to be rolled out. Also, this particular factor will help the company to price it competitively. In this context, we can expect the SUV to be priced in the range of Rs 12 lakhs - Rs 16 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Dimensions

Dimensionally, the all-new Skoda Kushaq stands at 4,225mm in length, 1,760mm in width, and 1,612mm in height. The SUV comes with a 188mm ground clearance and 2651mm long wheelbase, which according to Skoda is the best in the segment. Also, the SUV offers a boot space of 385-litres.

Interior Features & Safety Equipments

Skoda has equipped the Kushaq with a massive list of features. These include a free-standing 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, Type-C USB ports, wireless SmartLink, six speakers & a 50w subwoofer, internal memory storage, cooled glovebox, and twin cup holders among many others. The SUV also gets “My Skoda Connect” features wherein the customers can access vital information like trip analysis, live vehicle tracking, and many more. The safety kit comprises of six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, auto headlamps & wipers, and a multi-collision braking system.

Powertrain & Performance

Skoda Kushaq will be sold as a petrol-only SUV. It will come with two engine options - 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol and 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol. The former will generate a maximum power of 110 bhp, while the latter will produce 150 bhp power. Furthermore, the SUV will get a total of three transmission options. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol can be availed with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Talking about the 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol unit, it will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as an option. Besides these, the SUV is offered with front-wheel drive system
